Primordia is the debut game from indie developer Wormwood Studios, published as a joint venture with Wadjet Eye Games. The game is a collaborative creative effort between Victor Pflug, Mark Yohalem, and James Spanos from Wormwood Studios. I thank you for your comment SirPrimalform and I relish a keen eye leading to your observations. You are correct in saying that it has a native resolution of 320x200 but that can only be achieved by accessing the program files and manually changing the x2, x3 or x4 filters that are on offer. The game was preset to run using the x2 filter on release when installed. This setting would accommodate the majority of the players.
The game doesn't use a fixed resolution of 640x400, the backgrounds are 320x200 and in Direct3D mode it can run at 320x200, 640x400, 960x600 or 1280x800. This obviously doesn't increase detail in the backgrounds because they are 320x200, but it does increase the detail in the sprite scaling.
My point is that you could say it only runs at 320x200 or that it runs at the above list of resolutions but it's definitely not fixed at 640x400.
