I can understand where you're coming from, a lot of video game series have changed significantly from where they started out, Monkey Island had to alter its mythology significantly to make it to a third game. The developer did mention that the reactions from fans made them realize that Simon should be less well-behaved and closer to his selfish roots, so it's possible that they learned their lesson. I'll be reviewing the game soon so I'll have to share my verdict on how well they did.

Poor

I can only wish they never make a 6th game.
Simon, the character that, during the original games, only wanted to go home and mind his own selfish problems, was transformed into stupid hero eager to help and love his new friends. Its disgusting.
Now, when i read that this "creative" director compared Simon with a wanna be superstar or a supermodel from the TV, i understand better what kind of junk they got in their heads.
Thanks for ruining one of the best games ever.
