Being a lover of classic English literature and computers, this has also occurred to me.

But why can't we go a step further and turn a great novel into a third person 3D adventure, or even a shooter?

Plenty of people get murdered in Dicken's novels, for example. Personally, I'd love to have been the one to have stuck the knife into Mr Tulkinghorn in Bleak House or decked a snivelling Uriah Heep in David Copperfield.
