I think dragon lore 2 is an awesome game, just misunderstood. Dragon lore 2 is an erratic, unpredictable game whith little instruction. You can say the wrong thing and suddenly lose the game or screw something up forever without even realizing it. The game has many choppy and poorly designed elements such as the combat system; But this game isnt really centralized on combat anyway. The best part about the combat system is the fact that battles only happen within the story line. Its not a hack and slash game full of random encounters, most fights always start with a conversation. This adds to ther feel of the game, battles feel like a big deal instead of an anonymous violent encounter. This is a game of walking around for hours ripping your hair out trying to figure out complex puzzles with unclear instructions. You just have to talk to people and figure it out for yourself. This game is full of chaos and aggravation, and i guess to most people that makes for a crappy game; I have the oppisite opinion.

Comment on review of dragon lore 2:

What you have said in your article are totally true. I am playing it for the first time and I'm pulling out my hair of frustration because I had to load a saved game and redo 2 hours work! The jousting is really just too slow and difficult, and the maze is a real adventurer's nightmare. The story about dragons and allies are cool and original ,but after playing games like Riven it seems that Cryo just hasn't done their homework. One does'nt like to sit hours trying to get at a certain area in the town or maze. Ex: I forgot to pull a lever at the beginning of the maze. Now it is a whole 30 minutes or more of trying to correct my mistake by loading a saved game. And if you forget to buy enough health restorers? Well then, you just can't get past a certain puzzle! It could have been such a great game if it were made correctly! And it also sounds like they stole the theme of orcs from Blizzard! But it is a soothing thought that I was not the only one struggling with it.
