Is there life after death of the adventure game? I'd have to say that the answer is an emphatic yes. Perhaps a bigger question is why? In the span of a few years, the once towering game genre had fallen from market dominance to near absence on retail shelves. The industry has abandoned it. The pioneers are gone or have stopped producing for the genre. The 3D shooter had riddled it with bullets.…

I enjoyed reading your article. It is very well written. Don't know if I agree with all your view points though, but agree with most of them. Ive played adventure games for the past 16 years starting with Monkey Island 1 and it was a good time to start since it was the start of so many good adventure games coming on the market. I've played most of the best ones, but there have been long periods of time with no new adventure games, but I never thought they were finished for good as so many naysayers said. I thought they would come back into popularity at some point and for now at least, there is Keepsake (which I am playing and enjoy it very much) and there is Dreamfall, Paradise and Scratches, so that is more all at one time than have been made for a long time. I hope it lasts. Thanks again for your article.
