How do you follow a phenomenal hit? That is the problem facing Sierra On-Line when it decides to follow up on its hit game Hero's Quest: So You Want to Be a Hero. The original game (which has later changed its name to Quest for Glory I: So You Want to Be a Hero due to a trademark issue) has been a critical and popular success, most unusual for an adventure/role-playing hybrid title. The creators…

HELP!!!
I don't seem to be able to defeat the bloody fire elemental! I bought the incense, I spread it on the ground, I walked to north, to the alley and voila!
I run out of incense! I tried to "drop lamp" and "force fire into lamp with waterskin" but it won't work. the waterskins are full so what's the problem?
Please, help me!

This game Got Me Started On Sierra On Line Adventure Series (Ones outside QFG also) And every game has left memories of how much fun i had playing these stories out to find out what the conclusion was to every one of them. Each game seemed like an imaginative masterpiece to me, and even today I check back and install the games to kinda look around a bit, and yeah, I can still see why they were such great games, even now. I feel sorry for every pc gamer who has missed out on these.

By far, I think, the best game in the series. I would love to see it remade :)

"Clear paths"? What are you talking about?? QFGII with its word-choice specifity is ridiculously and unnecessary complex, and don't get me Started on how winding the tunnel to the bank is.

In Quest for glory II when your are walking in the streets, i think i found a way to short cut the way, i cant quiter remember if i doubleclicked when entering from the plaza's or did i buy a map from somewhere' i'm sorry i can't be more precise it is at least 3 yars since i played i the last time, however be warned that you might miss something happening on the way in the streets(i thought it quite good actually, roaming the streets(practicing locks and so on(stealing)). i first found this shortcut the 4th or 5th time i'd played it.
(this was the last sierragame i seriously played since the loss of the text editor (in the next game) made both the gameplay a little to straight and your own contribution to the game and activation of your fantasy much less, when i think of this i can actually get tears in my eyes.
In my mind there is no doubt that they text parser is a much better way of playing the game(the sierra adventures) and it's always sad to se a better solution being cast away, just because of new technology, i think most people who played the sierra text adventures know
what i mean when i say that the exploring has become alot more tedious and routine with the mousesystem, and the feeling of surprise and accomplishment a lot less. when solving a small puzzle or wringing a little detail from a person which might not have anything to do with the game "anyone remembering where the to guys from andromeda came from"
Sierra use the best solution, use a text parser, if you can write an email you can play
with a text parser.
Help i can't stop..
